Well, thanks but I take pride in being able to draw well. If you want to “just make work” on your own time, that’s cool and all, but if you want to make work that maybe people will enjoy and respect (and that YOU are proud of), craft is kind of important. You know, putting a bit of effort into your work instead of just pooping it out? Pushing yourself to constantly improve and be innovative rather than just pumping out clichés or total garbage? I personally have no interest in reading a comic that’s drawn totally half-assed, regardless of how “cute” or engaging the story is (*exceptions can be made for work that is drawn loosely/expressively but still has an underlying knowledge of composition/skill).
But maybe I just relate more to the school of badassery rather than the school of cute ;)
